Mark Zuckerberg stated that with the Meta Verified service, customers can verify their accounts using an ID card and obtain the blue verification badge.

Customers will also receive additional protection from accounts that claim their identity or engage in impersonation, as well as direct access to customer support.
“This new feature aims to enhance authenticity and security across all our services,” said the Facebook founder.
During the launch, Meta Verified was priced at USD 11.99 per month for the web version and USD 14.99 per month for iOS. The paid verification badge service was initially released in Australia and New Zealand.
Later in March, Zuckerberg announced that the paid verification program would be launched in the United States.
